THE CROSSOVER
The crossover is specifically re-developed for our SS300B-25C. You'll hear something you've never heard before, the bass is way much deeper and presentable, the highs are now a lot more holographic and sparkling, and the vocals carry far greater emotion than ever before.
We maintained with the original LS3/5A's crossover electrical configuration for a fair comparison:
Crossover Frequency: 3,000 Hz @ -6dB
Woofer: 3rd-order electrical roll off at 18dB/octave
Tweeter: 3rd-order electrical roll off at 18dB/octave
Notch Filter: The original vintage design has an additional notch filter to tame the frequency peaks due to the cone breakup issues in the old KEF B110 woofer. Modern woofers no longer suffer from this so the notch filter is not applied in our LS3/5A.
With our highly developed crossover and GODLY SS300B-25C, we managed to unleash the full potential of the LS3/5A that has remained hidden for decades.
